Pension

Dear and valued guests,

Welcome to the website of the design pension TWENTY in Poděbrady.

The history of the building housing the pension dates back to after 1681 when the old wooden houses in the square in Poděbrady, including the town hall, burned down. Many original historical elements, such as the original sandstone masonry and brick vaulted ceilings, can be seen in the entrance hall, staircase, café, or the apartments on the second floor. The old beams decorate the attic rooms in the open ceilings on the third floor.

The aim of the pension is to provide you with a pleasant and comfortable retreat while exploring our beautiful spa town of Poděbrady and its surroundings.

The pension's great location at Jiřího Square ensures excellent walking access to all Poděbrady attractions. The colonnade stretching from the statue of King George to the train station offers a peaceful walk through the well-maintained spa park with many water features, sculptures, and greenery. Opposite the Libenský Hotel, you can admire the famous flower clock from 1937, the sculptures of the Poděbrady Three Hearts, and the dwarf that strikes the hour.

In the middle of the colonnade, you’ll find a true gem – the covered spa colonnade designed by architect Vojtěch Kerhart from 1938, with a fountain featuring a water jet, illuminated at night. Here, you can also taste the healing mineral water.

Just a few steps south of the pension, the Elbe River (Labe) flows, and it’s up to you whether you choose to go upstream, passing the architecturally interesting hydroelectric power station and sluices designed by Antonín Engel in 1913, the Golfi hotel, the golf course, and the confluence of the Elbe and Cidlina Rivers to Libice, where you can visit the Slavníkovské settlement – about 5 km away.

Alternatively, you can choose a longer walk along the Elbe River to the Ostende sports center, through Velké Zboží to Nymburk – about 8 km away.

There’s a pleasant cycling path on both sides, which is particularly popular among cyclists, inline skaters, and runners. Not far from the pension, across the Elbe River, there’s a system of sandstone lakes open to the public, with beach volleyball courts and mini-golf. On the other side of the flood bridge, you can discover the Havířský Church, where the Kutná Hora miners were executed in 1496. In Poděbrady, you can also use the services of a horse riding school, golf course, bowling alley, or three tennis centers.

All of us at Pension TWENTY will do our best to make your stay at the pension and our beautiful city a pleasant and unforgettable experience that you will want to repeat soon.

Kind Regards,

The Fiala Family                                              The Mareš Family
